I like fruit baskets because it gives you the ability to mail someone a piece of fruit without appearing insane. Like, if someone just mailed you an apple you'd be like, 'huh? What the hell is this?' But if it's in a fruit basket you're like, 'this is nice!'
Without courage, wisdom bears no fruit.

Jesus, of the parable of the seed sower ..... "do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand any of the parables?"
It is important for us to understand how seeds will grow and produce fruit in our lives.
A man went out to sow seeds ..... some seed fell among a thorn bush, and the thorn bush grew up and choked the plant. These are people that hear the plan of God's kingdom, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Dad's Thoughts and Meditations
thorns = anxiety
thorns = deceitfulness of riches
thorns = hedonism - pleasure is the only good
It is apparent to me from this portion of the parable that a person can live and grow in God's kingdom, but for various reasons, never bear fruit.
A life among a thorn bush will not be capable of reproducing after its own kind: no fruit.
Sure, you can enjoy all of the pleasures of this life and have a relationship with the Father. But, you will never be fruitful for God as long as you live life for temporary satisfaction: you will never bring forth fruit to maturity.
If you have a thorn bush in your life, God is not angry with you, and no, he won't leave you. The thorn bush in your life will not allow the deep fulfillment intended for you, and you will not be able to reproduce this life with God in others. So sure, you can live a life of worldly pleasure and still know God, but that experience will die with you: that is a shallow empty existence.
I have two friends who plant gardens in their back yard. One friend is an experienced gardener. He grows enough to feed his family, share the fruit with many friends and stores the rest to enjoy during winter. My other friend has had his garden for less than five years. The vegetables were not very good this year: nothing like the first couple of seasons. The tomatoes did not have good shape and color, and they just didn't taste as good.
They both water adequately. Both gardens are exposed to the sun sufficiently. Both gardens have the weeds pulled. What is the difference?
I asked my friend with the struggling garden, 'did you fertilize the ground?' He answered, 'fertilize? do you think that I need to fertilize?'
I asked my friend with the abundant garden, 'do you fertilize your garden?' He looked at me with a face that said 'ARE YOU KIDDING ME???' but politely answered that he has a secret mixture of 28 ingredients that he plows into his soil every year before he sows his seed! And he proudly proclaimed that all of his friends beg him for his secret recipe!
If you plant a seed, it will grow. If you don't prepare the soil of your life, then you will not produce the good fruit of God's kingdom to perfection.
Prepare the soil of your life. Plant good seed. Guard your heart's garden from the thorns.
Do not let the thorn bush grow your garden: it is much easier to keep thorn bushes out of your life than to rid them once they have taken root!
Enrich the garden of your soul with the secret ingredients of the Father's thoughts to you.
